The Schiller DuCanto & Fleck Family Law Center hosts a monthly lunch panel, “Hot Topics in Child and Family Law.” Our September lunch, "Wisdom from the streets: A former gang member's strong words" was attended by 90 students.

Xavier, now in his 30s and possessing a masters’ degree, spoke to a riveted audience about his past juvenile and adult criminal system experiences, being institutionally raised and how to best understand and build relationships with youth. His current work focuses on Youth Offenders and Alternatives to Detention.
